About the Role
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Acute Care unit, you’ll deliver and coordinate high-quality nursing care using the nursing process — assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. You’ll provide hands-on patient care and delegate appropriate duties to supervised staff members, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective nursing care in accordance with the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act, facility policies, and professional standards.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans involving patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Administer medications, fluids, and respiratory treatments as prescribed.
- Recognize and interpret patient symptoms; report and respond promptly to changes in condition.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status, interventions, and outcomes.
- Teach patients and families about medications, treatments, and ongoing care after discharge.
- Organize time and prioritize tasks effectively to provide timely patient care.
- Ensure infection control and safety policies are followed consistently.
- Provide leadership and guidance to assigned staff, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new team members.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain and enhance professional competence.
- Support a positive and collaborative work culture through effective communication and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Dakota (or eligible for reciprocity).
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement.
- Prior acute care or hospital nursing experience preferred, but not required.
